Nuttle / Claude Code MCP
Give Claude Code your browsing data with one MCP server
Nuttle saves the posts, comments, videos and pages you browse to your own machine. Add it to Claude Code as an MCP server and Claude can query all of it — the thread you read this morning, the replies under a launch, the keyword data you looked up.
- One command
- Runs on localhost
- Works with Claude Code, Codex and any MCP client
CONNECT
Two ways to add it
Install Nuttle and keep it open — the MCP server lives inside the app on port 8787.
- One commandRun once in your terminal:claude mcp add --transport http nuttle http://127.0.0.1:8787/mcp
- Or install the Claude Code pluginSame MCP connection, plus a skill that turns any site you browsed into a reusable mapping card:claude plugin marketplace add shiyue1250/nuttle-registry claude plugin install nuttle@nuttle
- Using Codex?Add this to
~/.codex/config.toml, then check with/mcp:[mcp_servers.nuttle] url = "http://127.0.0.1:8787/mcp" - Browse something, then askTurn on a site in Nuttle (Plugins, or Data → Discover for any site), browse as usual, and ask Claude about it.
WHAT TO ASK
Prompts that work out of the box
- “What did I just capture?”Claude lists the sites and endpoints Nuttle saved and shows you samples of the raw data — useful on any site, even without a plugin.
- “Summarize the replies under this post”For X, Reddit, Xiaohongshu and WeChat, Claude gets the post together with its full comment tree, nested replies included.
- “Wait while I scroll, then sum it up”Claude can wait for new data to arrive as you browse, then pick up from there.
- “Group these comments into feature requests”Nuttle's Insights hands Claude a scoped job; every quote in the result links back to the original comment, and quotes that don't match are dropped.
- “Download the videos from those posts”Claude can queue downloads of the media you watched and list what's already on disk.
- “Tag the useful ones”Claude can tag what it found; tags you set yourself stay yours.
FAQ
Questions
What is the claude mcp add command for Nuttle?
claude mcp add --transport http nuttle http://127.0.0.1:8787/mcp — run it once in your terminal while the Nuttle app is open.
Does Claude get access to my whole browser?
No. Claude only sees what Nuttle saved: data from the sites you turned on in Nuttle, stored in a local database. It can't browse, click or send requests to those sites.
Does it work with Codex or other agents?
Yes. Any MCP client that supports streamable HTTP can connect to http://127.0.0.1:8787/mcp. For Codex, add an mcp_servers.nuttle entry to ~/.codex/config.toml.
Is anything sent to the cloud?
Nuttle itself uploads nothing; the MCP server runs on your machine. What Claude reads is passed to the model like any other tool result in your Claude Code session.
